The fading

The many faces that have a spark
Hide often a face that runs to bark.
The lovely facades of smiles now fade
Fade into the oblivions of age
For men now shrink their hearts to blood
Hiding in the masks as cage.
Stealth in their words now felt
Masks in their brood
Forgotten the love of faces for long
The masked men now rule.

Yet glimmering is a distant light
A light afraid of cold
That sits in the silence for long
Gazing at the creed.
The masks now stand too tall
Tall in flesh and blood
For they the reality dread
And yet in those bloodless masks deep down
Heavy tears are shed...
