Among the million billion stars in our galaxy, stood the grandeur of our solar system - the sun. Well, it was till then just a star - a sad, sad star. Weary of its existence - alone in this universe of infinite colours and facades, it seemed each moment of his existence was a testimony to his loneliness.
He cried. Of course, the tears wore off his heated flesh, but he had tears deep within.
Out in the void that surrounded him was a cloud of dust and rocks. Among those million million rocks, a small chunk - thousands order smaller than the sun was observing the sun for the past many days. In his small and subtle squeak , he squeaked as it somehow managed to reached the sun, "Why are you sad?" The chunk inquired.
Intrigued and amused by the concern of this small non-existent, the sun looked at it with the utmost love and replied as he tried to lower his head towards that small rock, "Nothing Dear..." he choked. He looked in the most amusing looks in those giant golden eyes..."I am solar and you be...?"
The rock knew for sure that this man, Solar was sad. But it replied, "I am Heleo..."
The sun was quiet, this rock was a she. General courtesy asked him to treat her respectably. But Solar could not help but look at her with the same adoration that a older one looks upon a younger one - he found her to be cute.
Solar said, "You know what Heleo! Years ago, I was born in the nebula of the masters. I lived in a beautiful tapestry of colours and light. There was so much for me to know and explore. The temperature was comfortable for me, the awe of the birth of my brothers and sisters left me dumbstruck. And here I am - dumbstruck by eternity. I live in a dark void of nothingness..." there was deep melancholy in his tone.
Heleo seemed perturbed. She raised her voice which was a louder squeak, " I am here. We, the wandering rocks, the dust of the void - we all have been with you for ages now. Ages even for our master smith. If that was your problem..." she paused and expressed the obvious lines of guilt and shame. She continued,"will you be my friend, Solar?"
The magnanimous pain and heaviness of solitude and guilt washed away to the tears of pure joy. The idea of being not alone was more than the idea of being companion with a rock miniscule in existence simply because there was no one to speak about it.
He nurtured her. He realised that they could not shake hands, or she begins to liquify. He also realized that they could not be far away or she'll freeze. He could not tolerate any change in her that changed her heart - the heart of the cutest thing he had met.
To his surprise, she became more beautiful each day. The burning lava cooled to terrains he had never seen even in the nebula he was born in. Suddenly, a weird thing covered her and she turned blue. She felt abashed but to Solar, it was a magical growth. He could realize that the changes were largely because of him. He felt a deep affection to all these changes. Heleo was more beautiful than ever. Many more rocks had joined Heleo and Solar. Another of them - Mars - too showed similar changes. And on it grew weird things, something Solar could not see due to their distance. Though voice he could hear of Mars and he instructed Mars to keep calm. But Mars was infatuated and rebellious. It let itself free of some elements Solar's ancestors had left as a mark of their existence. Heleo was still changing. Solar was furious at Mars, but he was silent. He knew that not all pains are tolerable. And Heleo kept him lively. Heleo's blue liquid was now filled with strangest of creatures - stranger than he could imagine. And yet those creatures grew and the blue liquid faded and filled up crevices of Heleo's face and green hues dominated shades in her scape.
Solar - the sun as the new creatures of Heleo called him and the new name of Heleo was Earth. They blunted her, knobbed her and chopped her other children. And she wept as she saw it. Sun, standing at a distance watched her standing alone near the dead Mars. Billions of years floated in his mind. A million billion smiles went past those golden eyes. He called out to her,..."Heleo, my daughter!"
Heleo was taken aback by the melody vested in those words. She smiled as she nodded,"Yes! Father!" she called out.
"Don't cry. You have to be strong. Someday when I shall be gone, you have to learn to be strong!"
Heleo nodded. Though it was too much for her, she knew that what Solar said was true. She shall change her hues, this courting moon shall be gone too but alive while Solar - the one who burnt for her children shall die...
"Love bounds. Its end revives..." Mars hissed.
"No..." Earth said, "I could have had been the same old dead Flesh of lava. But I found love, the love of a friend, the love of a father and the love of the one who made me..." she paused. She could see Solar beaming brighter than ever in the now filled void. She continued, "You know Mars, I thrived while he burnt. I got more beautiful with these cloudy veils and blue oceans with my children more beautiful than myself. Yet, even with only one hue with him, Solar is much more beautiful, much more handsome and much more glorious...I think he thinks the same of me..." she chuckled. And she added, "He loved me unconditionally. That set me free to thrive. So do I love my children...."
"love sets you free for it is hope and friendship together..."
In the void that the sun lived in, there was a lot more glory that day. Comets flew faster than ever and cosmic colours danced throughout. The Earth and the sun smiled in each other's hearts...
