Route to my home

They walked by the park in the town
That was by the ministry
Mangoes were sold there now that summers had come
They had known the place like a history.

Walking by the grand square of the civil lines,
They reached the narrower road
It led all the way to the road by the mount
They reached a more peaceful zone.

There was a school there,
Not far from the church.
And down in the valley was a mosque green
After that lied the great governor's wall.

He smiled as they moved past
The memories of the past.
The other smiled in a silent nod
They had indeed come home at last.

In playfulness, he teased,
The same words they had picked since they had known
In playfulness, he got teased
The same way he always had since time unknown.

The road led down to the streets and bazaars
And finally to a turn narrow
Driving down the road there
They reached a lake not very shallow.

A lot of years had been spent
On the rocks by the splash
And the sun merrily laughed at the act
Commanding the clouds to crash.

He slept there, the man in the tale
He woke up in his place, refreshed after a wait.
His dreams had given him inspiration enough
To get down to writing
