THE ANGEL - Unsuspecting Biblical Borrowing

A little angel crawls

Fallen from heaven down here

And in pain it curses its Lord

For burning away its life

And burning away its will

For burning away those little wings

That the lord of ghosts had willed.

The fallen angel is cursed

To burn till eternity

And in his heat shall die, men,

And their kingdoms and their luxuries.

Dark with pain

And dark in gloom

The angel shall repent

Till the day of doom

And the heavens can only but see not cry

The fate of the one

Who but to lay a questioning eye.

The Lord of the ghosts is merciful

In pity, he looks beyond

But for the world he is silent

For in silence, he sees not chaos.

The little angel

Is now anguished

Both through his bones

And through his heart

He, in anger and spite cries

He shall make

The Lord's order die.

The new citizens of the new kingdom

Are men ensnared in little props.

And while the serpent's task has been done

The men are by nature in its lair.

The angel cries,

His wings are charred

The skies not even in pity

Shed rains

The clouds and the beings atop

To my angel,

They seem the same.

There was a war, he remembers

And the war was for submission and will.

And through corruption shall the men be doomed

Through corruption, he'll breed ill.

The men quickly fell to craze

And the war was won

In the night

Neither the sun

Nor the moon dared

To look

At that bewildering sight.

The Lord saw not hope but in man one

And he ordered all to elope, all that he loved.

The man, as named, was no one on this earth

And yet the Black angel had let him be, let him be unheard.

The skies, in tears wailed

The rivers, in pain railed

The mountains and the grasslands sunk

The Earth seemed merrily drunk.

The beloved of the Lord sailed

Awaiting the day

Calamity paled.

On the highest mountain of the highest range,

Sat a man now black orange

He, in a tearful glee cried,

I have found peace and respite.
